Snow Mirror

After ordering a ridiculously large shed for J9 (16ft long) we popped along to the Whitworth Gallery to check out the Dark Matters exhibition.

This work is called 'Snow Mirror' and has a static snow projected across it, which on its own is incredibly hypnotic, but when you move in front of the sensor the static congregates to show your image. As you move away it retains a slight ghosted memory that slowly breaks apart and follows you as you can see from where J9 left my side and walked off to the left.

Have to say though my favourite piece was a video installation called 'Kiss' by R. Luke DuBois which took 50 iconic embraces\kisses from the movies but mapped them with a web of lines showing connections. The lines follow the movements of the people with the actual images becoming shadows. With a wonderfully trippy soundtrack it really was entrancing to watch.

One week left so anyone who gets the chance get down there.
