I love looking at this every day - but particularly this month.

I'm still not sure where the time or creative skill to spend months creating this cross stitch came from - but it was started when my daughter was in the terrible twos and I probably didn't have much 'me' time! I must have had the motivation though - perhaps that is a quality you get from your children. I don't feel I have much these days now the nest is 'empty'. Perhaps it will return when I begin my new role of grandparent in the spring. I really hope so!

So I was so proud of my 'labour of love' that I couldn't bring myself to hang velvet covered matchboxes over each painstakingly embroidered picture. These should have been removed each day of advent and the contents of each box enjoyed. But we enjoy looking at every picture every day instead - a lot of love went into the making if this and I'm almost as proud of the results of the time I invested in this - as that invested in my daughter - but not quite as much :-)
