Ring-Necked Duck

Today was a rather bleak day weather wise. The weather man predicted that we would have a sunny afternoon, but it is after 2PM and there is no sun to be had. The pond is having it's usual visitors today....the Great White Egret returned three times, and the American Wigeon Ducks were out in full force. Last week I observed a new duck called a "Ring-necked". (Aythya Collaris) Today she returned and I got some better photos. She is just a beauty, with the sweetest little face, and that unmistaken ring around her beak, thus the name!
