A Winter Song of Trees and Sky
"The tree rustled. It had made music before they were born, and would continue after their deaths, but its song was of the moment." - E. M. Forster
The temperatures rose considerably at the end of the week, giving us lovely weather on Friday and Saturday.
Saturday morning, my husband and I went for a bike ride to the local game lands, then hiked from there. Between walking and riding, we had a 10-mile day.
In the afternoon, weather systems were moving above our heads, making for some interesting sky shots. The trees rustled and moved in the breezes. We sat at the edge of a field and watched blue sky eventually chase away the white clouds.
I took this photo on our walk out of the game lands. I like the spareness and angularity of winter trees. They seem like sentient beings - tall, black shapes against the blue and white sky.
