Low tide over the estuary
A still and grey morning, the sun was just breaking thought the clouds as I drove in to get the papers. The tide was low and the mud full of wading birds and ducks. The floating thingies are something to do with mussel production.
By 11.30 the sun was out, the sky blue and it all felt very spring-like. I was moved to hoick six bags of manure to the beds on the top of the little hill behind our house - 'above' as we call it. Not easy as the path is steep, tiny and bumpy. Six bags does not go very far, so I then brought two barrowloads of seaweed up and distributed that on other beds. I also cut down the autumn raspeberries. The robins and chaffinches were all very interested. Himself went off for a long walk but I could see a front moving in our direction and he was back sooner than expected, reporting that the 'end' was in the fog.
Re The Killing - quite a few people were asking after my comments yesterday. It's dark and Danish and was shown as two TV series, now out on DVD. If you havent seen it - do, it is an extremely well written, highly intelligent and quite different drama. Completely compulsive - we only have 2 more episodes to watch and although I want to know who dun it, don't really want it to end - it's that good! Available from Amazon!!!
ooof, back to work tomorrow - that's going to be a big shock to the system.
