Hog Hunting
This prickly rodent was the highlight of a rather dreich walk through the local woods earlier. Hedgehogs should be all tucked up hibernating at this time of year, but we spotted this one snuffling along the path some distance in front of us and went into stealth mode so as we could get some photos. We needn't have bothered with all the sneaking though as the wee beastie was quite happy for us to get in really close and film it. It rolled into a ball at one point but it wasn't spooked by me poking a lens right up its snout or by Euan using the phone to record a wildlife movie.
After about ten minutes entertaining us it shuffled itself lazily off into a nearby leaf pile to resume its winter hibernation in peace.
