Homes sweet homes?

Took my camera with me this morning, hoping to catch a shot of village life as I walked back from school. And here it is - over one hundred houses about to go up in a former field at the edge of our village.

Of course, no-one lives anywhere that wasn't natural, unspoilt land at some time in the past but I wonder at what point we will cease to be a 'village', as we are fast merging with the two major towns either side of us!
