Flying the flag (not)

I pass these flag poles almost every day whilst at work and inevitably have a wistful moment about how they would have looked colourfully adorned by the flags of the Commonwealth.
For this is, as you may have guessed, is the former Commonwealth Institute building on Kensington High Street, which moved from this site in the 1990's and has lain empty ever since - except when it was briefly squatted a few years ago.

Apparently, the Design Museum is relocating here, which I am on the one hand a little bit excited about, but on the other worried about what will happen to the poles, which today looked particulary beautiful (even without flags) against the wintry sky.
