Cross Stitched Orchids

I had a busy day at work today and only managed to take the sunrise as I was coming into work and the sunset as I was leaving with my phone camera. Needless to say, the images did not turn out all that great. Fortunately I had my Needlework Guild meeting tonight and one of the ladies brought in a few pieces for show and tell. This is her cross stitched orchid that she did from a kit. I got to learn a new stitch in my Crewel embroidery class, the chain stitch. A fairly simple stitch except when you need to turn a corner or lay them very close to each other to create a shape. Someday I'll take a picture of my Crewel work in progress.
