Geoff
After yesterday's Bowie-themed journal I started thinking about this kid I used to be in the sixth form with at school, back in Hull 1985-1987. His used to tell me all about how Mick Ronson used to babysit for him when he was a toddler and how his mum used to go out with Andy Summers (before he hooked up with Miles Copeland and that Geordie teacher guy to form The Police). His dad was session musician Geoff Appleby and he used to tell us how his dad was nearly one of the Spiders From Mars. We used to half-believe him, but in those pre-internet days it wasn't so easy to look stuff up there and then. But today, well, one quick google search later and it turns out that it's all true. Well, I'll go to the end of my road, as we say we're I'm from.
Enough of that. My in-service morning at work consisted of my two colleagues coming up with some great ideas of we can move forward as an organisation whilst I sat there and came up with pretty much nowt, great or otherwise. I blame the 5.30am wake-up call I got from my youngest this morning, a 'bad dream' that needed my attention for an hour or so. Thought a post-work swim would either perk me up or finish me off. Mentally, I'm tip-top, but physically, well there's a good reason why today is not going to be Self Portrait Tuesday, put it that way.
At this time of the afternoon, more Dave is the only sensible option.
