One of the nice things about working in central London is that you often come across buildings which you'd never noticed before. I'm going to photograph and upload any which I come across this year as part of this journal, so here's the first one.

I was walking with a colleague from Marylebone to Riding House Street when my colleague caught a glimpse of this building down a street. Closer inspection revealed that it was built as a Nurses' Home for the Howard de Walden Estate in Langham Street W1. It is now the Langham Court Hotel.

The glazed brickwork and detailing around the arches is fantastic
