One Day One Shot

Lafayette Park

Had a meeting in the morning so I took this in Lafayette Park on my walk back from the ABA.

Its a great walk back and I always find myself cutting through the park. The park is across Pennsylvania from the White House and named in honor of Marquis De Lafayette, the French General who was close to George Washington and fought in the Revolutionary War.

A bit of trivia, the park has five statues, four of foreign Revolutionary War heroes and one of President Andrew Jackson.

The shot is of the statue that honors Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben, a German army officer who served as inspector general and Major general of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.

Shot with my iPhone using the camera+ app. I added some vignetting, a minor vibrancy enhancement and sharpened the corners in Aperture to get the final result.
