Sunset Façade
Returning from the day's museum outing this was the sight at the Tolbiac Metro station (Rue Tolbiac and Avenue d'Italie)--the black outline is a street light. It was 16:55, just before sunset. As special as this may seem, there must be thousands of façades of this general sort in Paris.
Our outing was to the Grand Palais, for "Matisse, Cézanne, Picasso... L'aventure des Stein"--an exhibition displaying the experience of Gertrude Stein and her family starting about 1904. No sooner arrived in Paris from the United States, the Steins began to collect avant-garde art, with stunning sophistication. The show seems to have re-assembled virtually all the important works they collected. (FYI, it moves to the Met in NYC, starting on 22 February.)
