Such is the scene in the evening, this time of year. Leaving in the darkness, returning similarly with a flash of grey sky in the middle.

Out here, though, in the country, there's an added dimension to the darkness that makes astronomy a very real possibility on those rare cloudless nights, with the Milky Way streaming across the sky, our little house tucked beneath its arch.
