Graduation day
Woke up nervous today, not worried about ceremony at all- worried about official photograph and hair.
Phoned number one son who stayed home, only to discover that he'd left his house keys in his work locker - had locked himself out of the house last night- and had to stay at a friends house (I don't know what her boyfriend thought).
Managed to put slight curl in hair (I normally wash and go), was pleased with result. Went to Kensington Town Hall , got 'gowned up'. Everything seemed ok until going up on stage. The hair had flattened, and mortar board which had been very secure, suddenly had a mind of its own. It wanted to go in a different direction from me. Had to hold it on with hand- I found it amusing.Kirbie grips would have made no difference as hair so fine. Mr P had videoed presentation, but didn't even get a shot of my face - thank goodness. I hate seeing myself in photos.
I got told that the tassle of the mortar board should be worn on the left side but the dresser couldn't give a reason for this.
Arrived back in Edinburgh around 2300hrs and had to iron uniform for work the next day.
I think the teddy looks just like me, if I put my glasses on.
You can buy t-shirts and sweatshirts with your name amongst all the other graduands --Why would anyone want to wear something with lots of names on it? I think I must be getting old, although I don't remember ever wanting to do this.
