In the Line of Duty

Funeral services were held today for an Ogden Police Officer who was shot and killed one week ago while trying to serve a search warrant with the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force. The suspect shot six police officers. This officer died shortly thereafter. Of the others, one was treated at the hospital and released, two were treated and released after a few days, and the other two are still in the hospital.

This is the first time since 1963 that an Ogden Police Officer has been killed in the line of duty. The news said that thousands of people attended the funeral, and the funeral procession was seven miles long. Quite a tribute!

Sad day.
