Margate.

We went to Margate to visit the Turner Gallery only to find the car park empty but coned off. No street parking either, so we decided to go to a nearby pub for a drink, found a space in the car park but was immediately verbally attacked by the landlord.
Waiving his arms in anger he pointed to what he called abandoned cars on his property. Presumably belonging to gallery visitors. I tried to explain that we wanted to visit his pub but he continued waiving his arms and protesting.
Drawing the conclusion that he did not want any customers and was not even prepared to be polite. We left.

Margate has spent a lot of money trying to regenerate itself, presumably to attract visitors. Makes you wonder, deoesn't it?
