undulating pastures

This field ( behind my house ) never fails to fascinate because it is a tangible link with the past.
I am informed that it has never been ploughed and that the undulations are man made to provide drainage .This was created in the middle ages and has been used only for grazing up until the present day.
seagulls and crows love it for feeding and sightings of interesting wildlife can be seen spasmodically through the seasons .
