The Return of the sub 9:30 pace!
It feels like forever since I've set out to do an easy run and come back with a sub 9:30 pace. Granted, I ran a 24:53 5k just last month, so it's not that I can't run faster, but I've been focusing on long slow miles with most runs around 6-8 miles and many others in the 10-12 range. So I'd been focusing on distance and found myself returning home time and time again to a 10:30 pace. It was like my legs had forgotten how to turn over any faster.
Then yesterday at our track workout we did a timed mile and I ran a 7:30. Turns out my legs just needed a little waking up because today's 9:30 pace felt just like an easy run should.
