Edinburgh Gloaming

Commuters head their way home, looking towards their weekend, with the sun's after glow bright in the west.

A Cheshire vicar John Ellerton (1826-93), as he made his nightly walk to teach at a Mechanics' Institute, wrote:

The sun that bids us rest is waking
Our brethren 'neath the western sky,
And hour by hour fresh lips are making
Thy wondrous doings heard on high.
