It Must be Term Time

This chap usually acquires a traffic cone hat in September. This year's students must be a little slow on the uptake.

Some of the city dignitaries think this is disrespectful. But my theory is that a young Boer war soldier, whom this statue represents, might have pulled similar pranks in his youth (though not involving traffic cones, obviously) and take it with good humour.

The best thing is that our young men are significantly less likely to find themselves one day represented by a statue after having been killed in battle. I call that progress.
