Tufted Duck
Well, Friday the 13th turned out quite nice for some!
The sun struggled a bit but managed to make its presence known and we walked for nearly three hours by the River Trent ... we saw robins, great tits, blue tits, dunnock, great crested grebes, pochards, a female smew, tufted ducks, mallard, a goldeneye and a grey heron.
It turned cold mid-afternoon and we turned for home and a bowl of hot stew I had cooked yesterday. Have you noticed how stewpots always taste better on the second day?
