A quick circuit of Holyrood Park

One of the advantages of the new job is that the building is located about 400 metres from Holyrood park and there's an hour for lunch.

Taking inspiration from Just Sitting's lunchtime laps of Arthur's Seat, I rounded off my first week at work with a quick lap (singular) of the hill. Damn cold on the first descent from St Leonard's to the Parliament, then the longest climb I've done for ages (years?) followed by some great views over sunlit South Edinburgh. Still had time for soup and a sandwich before lunchtime ended.

This is part of my preparation for participating in NVA's Speed of Light in August, where a load of runners get dressed up in light suits and run round the hill. Gotta be able to run a 5k hill run and keep active for 3 hours. Madness, I reckon.
