There didn't seem to be any fire-curtailment appliances heading towards this so I assume it was down to something expected such as road-resurfacing. Fortunately the wind kept it out of my nosepipes on my very short lunchwalk after I conscientiously stayed back to get something ready to run whilst I was out. I'd had a pre-work diversion so a sacrificed lunch was, for once, okayish.

The boy turned out to have a chest infection by the evening, which probably explains why he had one of his rare oversleeps in the morning, not waking up until after seven, more than overcompensating for the amount he lost during his few overnight wakes-up.
