A Slow Life

Living in the Wop-Wops

I went visiting some folk up the coast today and here is a snap of their home. The left hand section is actually a converted train carriage!

It was great to visit. The house is at the end of a quiet valley and it really did seem a world and a half away from the urban landscape of Wellington.

They live the good life up there along with eleven chickens, a sheep and two goats.

Oh, and their two lovely children too!

Note: Wop Wops is an NZ slang term for rural areas or towns/localities on the fringes of larger towns/cities.
