Bill Squared!

This is a Birthday Present for my very good mate, Flossie (Bill).

There's a wee story to go with it.

We were away for Hogmanay at the Whitehouse with a few close friends for a good and relaxing time. On the day we were leaving, myself and Luke decided to empty the bins into the big bin. On the way there we walked down an avenue of large fir trees, a couple of which had come down in the last storm.
I had commented on the wood left over and he had, just by chance, mentioned that they all had to come down as they were deemed dangerous due the very sandy soil they were rooted in. I thought this was sad and he had gone on to explain that it was even more poignant due to the fact that they were planted by the Dad of the magnificent Flossie, Bill Senior..

I had then told this story to DaisyGlaisy who suggested.
"you should make something out of the wood for Floss then"
Great idea! But what? And how?

To cut a very long story shorter.......if your not too confused already.

I couldn't find Doug on Facebook, so I messaged Kim who told me Dougs Dad was in charge. Got his number and got permission to lift the wood. Happened that Doug would be there on Wednesday night with a chainsaw... RESULT! Spoke to Edna (wife of Bill senior and Mum of Flossie) to get Bill Sr's hand prints. Got the wood, decided what to make and made it in the last 2 nights. The trees were planted 62 years ago by Bill senior himself.

It was a coincidence of talking, hearing stories, information and phone calls and the generosity and willingness of folk to help that made this gift possible.

Flossie is a special man.
