Loren Turns 13!

Oh my how 13 years have flown by! Don't know whether to smile or cry....maybe both? We decided to celebrate Loren's BD with a trip to Funworks. Funworks is a place that has special memories. When we lived in the same town, I used to take Loren to his toddler playgroup there. He loved going there every week. It has go carts, lots of games, a bowling lane, bumper cars, miniature golf, bumper boats, a climbing wall, a play area, batting cages, remote control car track, etc. All the things to make kids happy. We had a blast there today as you can see in these pictures. Loren's two best friends, Chris and Jesse, spent the day with our family there.

Once we came home we enjoyed banana splits with lots of toppings in place of the traditional birthday cake and I'd say it was a hit. Then Loren opened his gifts which included his first guitar (an Ibanez acoustic-electric combo), cash, Gamestop gift cards, and a book his been waiting for (Book 4 of the Inheritance series). A memorable moment of the night was Liam and Landon running into their bedroom to wrap 'gifts' for Loren from them. Loren's gift from Landon was wrapping up his Spiderman baseball bat. :) Liam's gift for Loren was $10 cash from his piggy bank. We were all so VERY touched by this gesture.

Then we all stayed up to ring in the new year with sparkling cider and party poppers. HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY LOREN!!!!!!!
