Calling New York

This is the Grimeton VLF transmitter close to Varberg here in Sweden. It was used until the fifties for transatlantic radio telegraphy to Radio Central in Long Island, New York, and is actually a World Cultural Heritage site (UNESCO). I have never been there, but as you can see it is quite visible from the motorway...

Oh, by the way..: MY VACATION HAS STARTED :D If you want me, I'll be outside in the shade somewhere with a book :)

I also had these pics to choose from: Through the wire and Windshield waterfront, but opted for the Grimeton one purely for being able to tell you something about it :)
