Pigs do fly

Trying out the digital zoom on my new camera. I like this because something about the amount of air you're shooting through seems to slightly flatten the image, so it looks more like illuminated manuscript than 3D object. But why the corn sheaf by his back feet - is this to convince us that pigs don't really fly after all, or just so we won't get upset about the spike through his tummy? Poor pig!
