Cheers!
Another walk today in crisp cold weather to get some fresh air!!
Originally a pub site since 1666 when it was situated on the main road leading north out of London. The pub changed name in 1700 to "The Great Tree" then some time before 1800 back to "The George".
The current building was built in the 1920s and was known by locals as the "Scotch House" for a number of years due to the tartan displayed around the walls. The pub then changed to the "Rat & Parrot" for a few years until 2004 when the current landlady decided that the original name would be a welcome return for locals and visitors alike.
