Sunday dinner..
and a transparent plate makes for great fun!
Had a great weekend with my boys pottering about at home - much needed after all the travelling and entertaining we've been doing. Also started the preparations for leaving Baku in 3 months or so:
Took the cats for blood tests on Saturday - the good news is that the UK has abolished quarantine for pets who have adequate levels of rabies antibodies in their blood 3 months before entering. But taking blood from a cat is not as simple as from a human... the poor things were given a general anaesthetic, then had a patch shaved on their neck (poor Felix has a strange looking ruff now!) and blood taken from there. Spike was staggering about a couple of hours later, but Felix was knocked out until the early evening. The samples now travel to Edinburgh for testing - and hopefully the cats will be able to travel with us when we leave in April.
Sunday I did some cooking for the little man. The husband tested the lentils (no salt, no chilli) and pronouced them to be disgusting. But D disagreed. Think it will be a bit longer before the family sharing meals is the norm, though D has had a modified version of our dinner on occasion.
