(oops not White flower #5)White fronted tern

Should be doing my fifth white flower challenge (maybe tomorrow), but just had to use this shot of a white fronted tern! Was getting withdrawal symptoms from not photographing birds!

I love terns, they are birds with attitude, they'll take on birds much bigger than they are, and stand up for themselves when a bigger bird tries to push them off their favourite perch. They have such incredible wings and are such adept fliers.

This is on the Avon Heathcote estuary, on a lovely blue sky day. The horrible wind has died away, and the temperature is a little cooler and it's just great to be out.

May not be able to comment tonight as have Photography club meeting which looks really interesting.
