Villemorin

We said goodbye to D, F, C & E today - they're off home today -and Mrs42 made our way 350km north to a tiny little hamlet called Villemorin, east of La Rochelle and south of Poitiers.

We are staying in "Maison St George" run by Peter and Donna ... its like a little corner of England in a very French rural village. Very strange. If you have been following my journal for a while, you'll know that I am an adopted Scot (English by birth) and I have left Englandshire happily behind. But somehow with the sunshine, deep blue sky, bleached sandstone, ramshackle houses and peace of the French countryside it mellows it all.

The cottage is really lovely and Mrs42 made us Tartiflette this evening with the Reblechon cheese she brought from the Alps, washed down with a glass of wine and then a stroll round the village - lots of interesting little things to shoot, my favourites were the original hole in the wall and the fantastic Rue Sans Soleil.

This shot is definitely not my normal style, but i like the lines and focus...
