flat-pack

i could compete at the olympic level if one such event: ikea assembly, existed. i have put together so much ikea furniture over the years it is sad i don't own stock in the company, but then again neither does anyone else.

i got a new desk chair today. i was as always amazed by the skilled design put into the flat-pack. the chair isn't anything special, its black and relatively comfy, but the flat-pack was extraordinary. i opened the box to find pieces missing, or so I thought. Then I found this page [ pictured above] and was in awe. they had shipped the wheels, arms and hardware zippered into the chair back--how cool.
