St James & Harbourne Blue cheeses
These are the two cheeses we bought from Cartmel Cheeses (as mentioned on yesterday's blip)
The blue cheese, Harbourne Blue, is wonderful, far less astringent than Roquefort. It is made from goat's milk. It's got almost a caramel sweetness and a lovely rounded taste. It's suitable for vegetarians too.
The St. James is very French in nature. It's soft and gooey and has got that characteristic bite to it. It cries out for some very fine bread and butter. It is made from ewe's milk.
