The eighth bridge across the River Tyne.

The bamboo bridge has been completed . It is a temporary suspension bridge spanning 100 metres between the Tyne and Millennium Bridges.There are two 25 metre high towers, one on each side of the river, one in Newcastle and one in Gateshead, which were then joined by a bridge made up of around 800 pieces of bamboo.It has been created as part of the 2008 Summer Tyne Festival by Bambuco an Australian company.Sadly it is only there until tomorrow when it will be dismantled.
