Squirrel Darts

Today I played the ancient sport of Squirrel Darts. It's big in Sussex and can be traced back to the Norman Conquests.

Originally played with Red Squirrels, the modern sport uses the slightly heavier Grey as they offer greater penetration of the tree trunk. Also Reds are hard to find in Sussex:)

Alternatively, this squirrel is retrieving it's nuts from a tree. It would scamper down the tree, dip in and grab a nut, then scamper back up the tree to a branch about 5 feet above the stash and eat. I watched it repeat the exercise half a dozen times before leaving.
