21 Days

Tomorrow morning, Alex leaves for Alaska for three long weeks
And quite honestly, I'm not prepared for him to go
It's hard enough that we're going to college in almost a month from today
That, I believe, I can handle
At least then I'll still be able to talk to him
But this time he's going to be completely out of contact as soon as he lands in Alaska
I'm not quite sure I can handle this
I made him a bracelet out of braided leather and wrapped it up for him to open on the plane in the hopes that maybe he'll wear it on his trip
And I made myself a matching one
I plan to wear mine, even if he won't wear his
He'll miss a lot around here. But I'm sure he'll have a great time
I'm counting down the days.
