Turkeys in the Mist
Question of the day...What do you call a "herd" of turkeys? (Answer later.)
I left to drive my doctor at 7:45 a.m. It was raining. It is now closing in on 2:30 p.m., and the rain hasn't stopped. What to take a picture of in the rain?
I drove past the path where you sneak in the back way to the lake in the state park. I saw something out of the corner of my eye. WILD TURKEYS!! (And...not the kind you drink.) I wheeled around, and readied my camera. Terrible lighting, but I got 5-6 shots of the 12-15 birds.
A group of turkeys is called a rafter. I'd like to know what the group of people are called who made up all the goofy names. A clowder of cats...a business of ferrets...a tower of giraffes...a cackle of hyenas... a prickle of porcupines..., and a murmuration of starlings. I'll tell you what the group of people are called...PWTMTOTH...(people with too much time on their hands.)
My first hockey game was great. After the Red Wings got a 3-0 lead in the first period...the only suspense left was seeing if our goalie was going to get a shut-out. He did. Final score...Detroit 5, Buffalo 0.
It was nice that my son let me use the other ticket, and it was fun to spend time with my favorite hockey player (he plays.)
