Farmers' shoot

An enjoyable day of fresh air and walking the local countryside. We were all out on the local shoot, T was a gun and N and I were beaters along side our neighbours and others. The dogs came too of course. Lunch was eaten sitting outside the local pub in the sunshine, it was so unbelievably warm. The percentage of birds shot is always so small compared with the number originally put down at the beginning of the season. In fact later on many of them will be caught for breeding the next lot of pheasants. Those shot will be cooked and eaten after having been hung for a short time. A good day out for country people.
