Polluted Sky
I think it is a real shame that when we look at the sky at night now days we are surprised if we don't see any light pollution. This picture shows the light pollution over Reading and I'm sure the sky over any reasonably sized settlement in the country and indeed over much of the developed world would look exactly the same. Anyone who has had been lucky enough to see the night sky in an area free of this pollution will know that it is far more interesting that it appears from most places in the country. Is it too much to ask to get people to turn off outside lights, street lights and similar things? Perhaps it is but who am I too say. On the plus side I think it makes a nice picture.
The fact that I am posting this when stargazing live is on is entirely coincidental, I was taking a picture of something else and happened to catch a glimpse of this in the background.
Second exam is approaching, not feeling too good about it at the moment. I really must stop spending time taking pictures and do more work, but unfortunately taking pictures is fun and work is not. Why are fun things unproductive and boring things helpful? And why are tasty things unhealthy and horrible things healthy. It sucks. Oh well, back to my chocolate cake.
