Cows in the Mist

I was driving home from work and noticed that a ground mist had rolled in. It was making everything look odd and surreal, creating some great photo opportunities.

As I neared home, I went down a side road I don't usually take. I stopped the car and got out to take a photo of a fallen tree at a farm, with the mist and the clouds all around.

I looked closer: at the center of the fallen tree shot I had just taken were some cows. I realized I could zoom in and get more detail, and so I did; this is the shot I took.

The cows seemed like something more than cows to me in the misty, changing light, framed by the gnarly tree stump.
