Divine help with ropes

A walk up to St Nicholas Church, Codsall to find that they were bucking the trend and actually left the church open during the day. I entered considering the possibility of some coloured light from one of the windows, only to find this spaghetti of ropes in an open area under the tower at the back of the nave.

First problem, I'd forgotten my tripod head plate, grrrr! I ended up propping the camera on a shelf and using a bible to get the necessary angle! I was using a Nikon D5100 so had the luxury of a swivel screen in live view.

I have a feeling this will be a location for further investigation at those times where other inspiration fails me.
