Inside the hills

Today I visited Birkhill Fireclay Mine. Part of the mine is now flooded, as you can just about make out here. The water is completely still and crystal clear, and it has no oxygen in it, so supports no life. You can also see some abandoned miners' helmets that at some point got washed out from another part of the mine long after closure, and just appeared here.... spooky.
