An M sort of day
Today was misty, murky, moist and mild; and muddy and midgy when we went out. Pretty much merde as far as the weather was concerned. The bell buoy outside the harbour bonged all day.
It wasn't an M-ty day though because I made enough Marmalade to fill a dozen jars. The essential Seville oranges seem in short supply this year so when I found some in a local wholefood shop I bought the lot. Now my pots of gold will glow like jewels on the larder shelves until they are dispersed to family and friends .
A word of advice: I strongly recommend boiling your oranges till soft before cutting them up and then it's really easy (especially if you use a pressure cooker). Never mind what Nigel Slater says.
