scots pine

This lovely tree in the garden is about 20 feet high. This is the first year it has produced any cones. They are quite big, over 3 inches long and rather chubby too. There are about 8 on the tree altogether, but none of them have fallen off yet. I bought it from a market one Christmas. It was only small, in a little pot, covered in false snow with a star tied to the top. I put it outside and it started to grow, and it's still going!
