Montivideo Uruguay

We didn't expect much of Montevideo or Uruguay but we were impressed by our guide's description on the way this small country is run even though the radical president has the right of veto on anything the Parliament decides (though rarely does!)and the free medical and education available to all. Unfortunately this gives the youth the opportunity to move leaving the country with a depopulation problem. Uruguay has the population of Wales and it is famous for its wine and beef. Lesson over! We liked it.
