Un-(Grebe)-lieveable!!

The plan was to go down to Temple Newsam to pick up some woodland birds such as Treecreeper and Nuthatch for the Patch List. Then Bird Guides announced a Black-necked Grebe opposite Caroline Bridge - and plans change.

In the end there were four of us looking for it. No sign. So we walked along the Aire and looked in a couple of other places. No sign. Hence this picture of Lawrie and Alan Grebe-ing, rather than the Grebe itself.

I had an appointment at 2:00pm, so left them to it. Sure enough, at 2:16pm, a Tweet came through from a smug friend. "Smew and Black-necked :-)".
