Everyones new year should start with a trip to IKEA and an household layout change...

So that is where we were to be found today; at Ikea buying a couple of new (skinny) bookcases, dvd towers, boxes and obligatory wicker. Then we built said items and reorganised the flat whilst Granny and Papa entertained Amelie.

Amelie got a new tall skinny bookcase in her room to fit alongside her short fat one. Her good, supervised reading books go a bit higher up to keep them in good condition along with some things I'd also like to keep in good condition with the chunkier, child friendly and her favourite books going on the bottoms three shelves for her to be able to get to along with some of her toys and bits. On the short fat bookcase we bought a couple of boxes and baskets to fill with her puzzles and jigsaws, playmobil, duplo, instruments, train set, etc etc. And we have moved the glider chair out of her room (which makes it look so grown up!) and moved her chest of drawers so she has more room to play...

Chris and I got a rare date to the cinema in the evening also.

Ahh what more could I ask to start the year!
