We spent the morning roaming the forum, amongst the ruins of the temple and buildings. The main thing that impressed me was the sheer height of the standing columns; those temples must have been some sight! We squeezed in a quick visit to the Bocca Della Verita (Mouth of truth) where legend has it that if you put your hand int he mouth and tell a lie it will bite your hand off. Yes, we were too chicken to actually do that! Our last stop of the day was supposed to be the Spanish steps, but we had one last farewell icecream at St Peters and saw the sun set.

Plane home in the evening was a struggle to stay awake - got home and almost face flat into bed!
